The Great Wine Capitals Global Network recognizes Napa Valley as one of 10 Great Wine Capitals around the world (and the only one in North America). The organization recently celebrated Napa Valley hospitality businesses as leaders in the 2023 Best of Wine Tourism awards.
The annual Best of Wine Tourism Awards celebrate innovation and excellence in wine tourism throughout the greatest wine regions in the world. For Napa Valley, the awards program spotlights hospitality leaders for their commitment to excellence in delivering the highest quality experiences to visitors through seven categories.
Here are the 2023 winners from Napa Valley:
Stanly Ranch, Auberge Resorts Collection
Winner – Accommodations
This category recognizes lodging properties that demonstrate a close connection to our wine region, driving tourism to the valley. Stanly Ranch offers a luxury resort estate getaway surrounded by vineyards and conveniently located at the southern entrance of Napa Valley.
Far Niente Winery
Winner –Architectures and Landscapes
This category is open to wineries with significant architectural design elements or characteristics, whether historical or contemporary. Surrounded by 13 acres of impeccably landscaped gardens, Far Niente Winery’s stone building and wine caves date back to 1885 and are found on the National Register of Historic Places.
HALL Napa Valley
Winner – Art and Culture
This category focuses on wineries that display a commitment to combining arts, culture, and wine in a forward-looking way. Owned by avid lifelong art collectors, HALL Napa Valley showcases work from today's most internationally acclaimed artists to their visitors and heavily promotes art programs throughout the valley.
V. Sattui Winery
Winner – Innovative Wine Tourism Experiences
This category highlights wineries that consistently deliver innovative, educational, and exceptional leisure activities and experiences. V. Sattui’s diverse wine portfolio attracts people from all walks of life to visit the estate, which holds more than two acres of picnic grounds, an on-site deli, and a BBQ.
Tres Sabores Winery
Winner – Sustainable Wine Tourism Practices
This category celebrates wineries that have implemented environmental practices and sustainable innovations and developments in the vineyards, winery, and visitor experience. As a California Certified Organic Farm (CCOF) and Napa Green, Tres Sabores is home to an ecosystem of birds, insects, and farm animals that play an integral part in the winemaking process and delight visitors.
PRESS Restaurant
Winner - Wine Tourism Restaurant
This category recognizes restaurants that elevate the regional wine experience. PRESS restaurant has the largest collection of Napa Valley wines worldwide, with more than 2,500 unique selections available to be enjoyed alongside their local farm-to-table menu.
Platypus Wine Tours
Winner - Wine Tourism Services
This category is for establishments and operators whose businesses focus on providing a service to their local wine tourism industry. Platypus Wine Tours specializes in tours of the Napa Valley, hosted by experienced tour guides who bring guests to some of the valley’s smaller production wineries.
