2. Pacifico Restaurante Mexicano
Vibrant music, a beautiful bar and a standout seasonal outdoor patio make Pacifico a spot to see and be seen! Be sure to visit often for creative daily specials, but if you’re looking for a guaranteed crowd-pleaser, order the tacos dorados – crispy deep-fried handhelds with marinated chicken or beef. Local’s tip: Pacifico’s has a great happy hour, seven days a week. Tacos pair excellently with a mango margarita!

Chase your smell-o-vision to this flagship shop in St. Helena, opt for tortas or their freshly-made soft tacos, loaded with your choice of asada, pastor, pollo asado, lengua – options are a plenty! You won’t go wrong with any choice but be sure to double order: you’re going to want an extra bite.

6. La Luna Market & Taqueria
Winery crews make La Luna a must-stop during busy harvest season and beyond –it’s safe to say this market fuels Napa Valley’s winemaking community through its long nights and early mornings! Plunked along a famous crossroad that connects many 100-point wineries between each other in Rutherford, head in for their regular or super tacos, both on stacked corn tortillas. Toppings abound from carnitas to carne asada to camarones a la diabla.

Inspired by all mothers and one dreamy trip to Mexico City, Mothers tacos serves authentic Mexico City tacos, made with “amor de madre”, in a typical Mexican market taqueria setting. The lines get long for their slow-cooked suadero (beef) tacos, and Chicharron taco – crispy fried pork belly with pico de gallo and fresh avocado. Want to venture boldly into new taco territory? Familia-owned, Tacos El Muchacho Alegre is a food truck run by the Pelayo Gómez family with roots in Autlán, Jalisco Mexico. The family has grown up in the kitchen with nostalgic flavors that transcend borders, traditions, and generations. Crowd-favorite handhelds include birria, asada and mixto de buche, cuerito and carnitas tacos. Order up!

11. Tacos La Esperanza
The tacos are simple and simply delicious. Stop by this family-owned taco truck for flaky white fish, sweet shrimp, or slow simmered carne asada tacos punched up with raw onion, cilantro and salsa and cooled off with crema and generous slices of avocado.

12. Taqueria Maria
David Reynoso is the chef and owner of Taqueria Maria – named after his mom. Reynoso worked the dining scene in East L.A. before taking the plunge and opening his own place with help from his brothers. “I like Napa,” he said. “I grew up in a small town, too.” The taqueria is packed most days thanks to their tacos. Get the Tacos Quemados de Pulpo – grilled octopus on a charred tortilla with sumptuous crema – or choose from a variety of soft taco options including chorizo, pastor, carnitas and shrimp. Can’t wait until lunch for your taco fix? No problema. Breakfast starts at 8.

Look for this popular taco truck next to the bright lights of a neighborhood quick stop, A1, located just south of Downtown Napa on Coombs St. Whether you prefer classic options like carne asada or want to explore more unique fillings like carnitas or al pastor or beef tongue, their menu has something for everyone.

14. La Cheve Bakery & Brews
This historic landmark has an authentic and very small kitchen and takes no reservations – so be prepared to wait in line for a table, but that wait is worth it! Guests in line can order drinks ahead of time courtesy of an outdoor bar and keep cool with a mimosa or margarita before settling in and diving into sumptuous plates of tacos (al pastor and asada are favorites, but don’t miss out on the champinones – marinated Portabello mushroom tacos!
